A Bad Mistake

My evil parents shaved me down, just because they felt like it! Well, actually Mummy was the mastermind and Daddy the accomplice. I don't know what possessed Mummy and Daddy to carry out this horrible act on their beloved son. Maybe they are jealous of my luscious and fluffy coat. Either that, or they have really bad taste and bad sense of humour. Now, you can't blame me for wanting to run away. Who wants to look like a freak circus lion?

My parents realised their terrible mistake and bought me a couple of doggy shirts to cover up my ugly, shaven body. They said they needed the shirt to protect my skin from the sun, but I think it's more for covering up their mistake!

I am wearing one of Mummy's old crummy tee in this picture. You can't really see my entire shaved body but I'm sure you can make out how bad the shaving skill is by looking by my poor legs.

Mummy kept saying sorry to me and everyday she would run her fingers along my ultra-short fur and beg them to grow faster! I wish my fur grow back as soon as possible too! But I am wiser than Mummy to know that certain things can't be rushed! Mummy swore she will never shave me again. I will hold her to her words!

hey chow! we will post pics of some, if not all of the puppies at home soon..

guan long is getting better. the wound dried up already and the skin is getting better. no more redness. we're just waiting for the wounds to heal. maybe by the end of the quarter he can get back to his handsome self. by then, both of you had grown your fur long already (paws crossed)

it's me,

Yikes Chow Chow! We understand your mummy might have a spur of a moment to be a groomer. Our mum did that once and shaved Barley's butt fur to 5mm too. It took like 4-5 months for his butt curtain to grow out again.

But don't worry Chow Chow, you look good with your t-shirt! Maybe you can pull a sad face all day so that your mummy will feed you more of those baked treats to make herself feel better!!

Hi Chow Chow,
AHHHhhh.. your parents are just like mine! They did a 'DIY' for me about a month ago... the good thing is mom has quite a 'talent' so she does a decent job BUT the big problem is she is sooo sloooow I can be sitting there for an hour.
Don't worry, I am sure your lovely locks will grow to be even more soft and silky (sounds like an advertisement! BOL!!)

Oh, Chowie! I'm sure there was a good reason for your mummy to shave you... I know that humans seem pretty insane sometimes, but most of the time they do strange things for our own good (for example, sometimes my Mummy puts me some weird panties on... WHYYY???).

Relax, Chowie. Plus, your always bootiful, even with a strange hair cut!

Oh my...I gope it's not really that bad. Is it? Why not go to the groomers to get it done nicely? Actually, you can look nice if they do it right. When they shave, they should run the shaver downwards not towards the direction where your hair grows. Then you'll get a nice clean shave.

Aw - you poor thing, Chow Chow! I hope your fur grows back quickly.

You know, my human wrote an article last year about whether it's good to shave heavy-coated dogs in hot weather and there was a big debate between groomers but a lot felt that there is actually no advantage for reducing heat because the fur actually acts as a barrier and helps to keep the dog cool in hot weather too!

However, there is one advantage to shaving if you live in hot, humid weather and that's to help prevent/stop fungal skin infections - so if your dog gets a lot of "hot spots", then it might be a good idea to shave the fur down a little...

Anyway, hope you're not feeling too uncomfortable - you look really cute in your T-shirt, by the way! :-)

Sorry I haven't been visiting much lately - but my humans are coming home soon (I'm so excited!) so I will be able to come by regularly again!

OMdoG!!
Chows dont shave, like Shiba Inus.

Poor Chow2, D+M made you suffer for their mistake, but anyway the weather has been pretty much baking hot nowadays so take it as enjoying the cooling days, LOL!

It's also bad of the Groomer not to inform your pawrents of the consequences!

But rest assured, your glorious coat will soon emerge soon! By then you'll surely be a handsome boy!
