Boring weekend

Last weekend was supposed to be fun. I mean, it's the long weekend and my parents already made plans to bring me to the dog park and then back to the house for another round of fur trimming. But none of that happened. No thanks to the unpredictable weather!

On Saturday, Mummy and Daddy had to go to the cemetery for some ritual cos it was Daddy's grandma's 100th day death anniversary and so they had to offer prayers and burn stuff for her. I haven't got the chance to meet this great grandma of mine cos she passed away before I got adopted. I bet she is a nice old lady. Maybe she will drop by the Rainbow Bridge and bring treats to the doggies there.

On Sunday, Daddy had to get out of the house bright and early for his marathon. Mummy wanted to tag along and so they "deposited" me at the grandparents place so that I can pee and poop in the garden if there's a need to. They didn't have time to bring me for my morning walk. Sigh. Well, at least I get to run around unleashed in the garden for a bit. Granddad even told Daddy that I run beautifully! Hmm....whatever that means.

Mummy also had to rush to a wedding luncheon after the marathon and she only managed to return just in time for us to go for my weekly lessons. She didn't even doggy-bag any of the yummy food served at the wedding for me.

On Monday, the entire day was ruined cos it was raining non-stop. I didn't even get a proper morning walk! The plan to hit the dog park was cancelled and I could tell Mummy was as disappointed as I am. She loves going to the dog park as much as I do. Oh well, better luck next week!

So what's a dog to do except to snooze his day away on a rainy day.

Hi Chow Chow,

Sorry I haven't had a chance to visit for a while!

I loved hearing all about your long weekend, even though you didn't manage to make it to the dog park in the end! We have rainy days like that too in Auckland and sometimes my humans (thinking they're being "dutiful") - drag me out into the rain for my daily walk...UGH!!! Don't they know that us Great Danes MELT in the rain?!?! I hate those wet walks and always can't wait to get back home...snoozing all day is much better! :)

Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
